While The Dead Zone: The Complete Third Season DVD is fully functional on virtually all of the 600 plus DVD player models in the marketplace. To date we have identified 15 DVD players that are affected when viewing the episodes in 4x3 Letterbox. The 15 players identified to date are:

Dead Zone Makes List Of 9 Shows To Watch This Weekend!

"The Dead Zone," 9 p.m. Sunday, USA Network: As the fourth season of this stylish, spooky series begins, psychic Johnny Smith (Anthony Michael Hall) must stop the possible assassination of a slick and sleazy politician, Greg Stillson (Sean Patrick Flanery), and as if that weren't enough, he's still trying to prevent the nuclear Armageddon he sees in his scariest visions. Paired with the second season of USA's "The 4400," this promises to be one enjoyable night of TV.

Entering its fourth season, "Zone'' has developed into a very dependable bit of entertainment: a well-told tale of the supernatural with good storytelling and a decent cast headed by Anthony Michael Hall as powerful psychic Johnny Smith.

This season's premiere episode takes off from where last season's cliffhanger ended, with Smith on the run from a trumped-up murder charge. He's also still trying to stop the murder of an evil congressman, Greg Stillson (Sean Patrick Flanery). Meanwhile, Smith's visions are becoming more and more apocalyptic.

It's all good, if somewhat improbable, stuff so settle in for "Zone's'' run.

Former Brat Pack star Anthony Michael Hall is still mystified about the whereabouts of his The Breakfast Club co-star Judd Nelson at the MTV Movie Awards, because the actor never showed up to collect his award.
The cast of the 1985 movie were honored at the event, but while moving from their seats to ones closer to the stage--just before they accepted the 20th anniversary award--they lost Nelson.

Hall says, "I didn't see Judd all night. I have no idea where he was. I think he was there, he just never really made it to the front seat."

Emilio Estevez was another member of the cast who failed to show onstage, but the stars' absence didn't stop Hall and castmates Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald and Paul Gleason from having fun.

Hall reveals the old pals were bickering about who should say what onstage, when Ringwald blew him away with her breast confessions and he insisted she had to repeat it on TV.

He recalls, "She said, 'I just had a baby and I fear that if I lean over (the mic) my t**s are gonna fall out.' I said, 'That's exactly what you have to say,' and that's what she did."

Zap2it.com talks about other stations trying to catch The Dead Zone's psychic wave!

"I don't know how I feel about [the success of 'Medium']," says Lloyd Segan, executive producer of "The Dead Zone." "It's a question often asked, and I never have a good answer for it. I'm thrilled for them, because any television show that succeeds as well they have is terrific. But there's a part of me that goes, 'Gee, they're getting all these accolades when we've been doing it for so long. What, we're the orphan child?'"

Other story lines involve a female psychic (Jennifer Finnigan); a visit by Sarah's father (Ed Asner); the return of journalist Dana Bright (Kristen Dalton), whose investigation of Johnny turned into a love affair; and an appearance by Danny Masterson ("That '70s Show").

There's also a look into the history of Johnny's seldom-mentioned father.

"I'll let you wait," Hall says about that. "It's a powerful episode."

The show is filming 22 episodes to be split into two 11-episode summer runs. In between, says Segan, there's a holiday surprise for fans of "The Dead Zone" and USA's mystery series "Monk."

"This year, USA came to us and said, 'We'd really like to do a Christmas episode.' So 'Monk' is doing one, and 'The Dead Zone,' and they're going to run them on the same night in December."

BAY Music Association and Mo's Restaurants will again sponsor a free July 4th concert of patriotic and popular music performed by the Newport Symphony Orchestra, conducted this year by David Ogden Stiers (schedule permitting). The concert will be at 4 p.m. Monday, July 4 at the Newport Performing Arts Center.

The program for the concert will include Sousa marches, Charles Ives' "Variations on America," Morton Gould's "American Salute," and Aaron Copland's "A Lincoln Portrait," to be narrated by Stiers.

Although the event is free, tickets must be reserved at the PAC box office. Reservations can be made beginning June 1 by calling 265-ARTS. Tickets are for reserved seating, and are limited to five per person. All tickets will be held at the box office until the afternoon of the concert, and must be picked up there between 1 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on July 4. Tickets not claimed by 3:45 will be given away to those on a waiting list. It is suggested that ticket reservations be made as soon as possible, as seating is limited.

The intriguing series The Dead Zone returns to USA on June 12. The show has-exhibited the heads-up work of Anthony Michael Hall, who was so successful as a child actor. "I never really stopped," acting, he says. "I just had to stay at it and survive in whatever ways I could. ... There were many-interesting transitionary points in my career. I had to really dig deep and make sure this is what I wanted. It's like being a-traveling salesman almost -- all you have is who you are and what you can really bring to the role when you go for a job

Breakfast Club 20th Anniversary Tribute On MTV

The show, which thumbed its nose at more high-brow awards' programs with dirty jokes and shameless plugs for Hollywood's upcoming summer blockbusters, also featured a 20th anniversary tribute to the 1985 teen drama "The Breakfast Club."

"Breakfast Club" stars Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall were all on hand to receive the award — an oversized bucket of silver popcorn

"It's pretty amazing to do a movie that's lasted for so long," Ringwald told Reuters as she arrived at the show. "I'm really proud."

Rock band Yellowcard serenaded the actors including Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall with a rendition of the theme song "Don't You Forget About Me."
