The show, which thumbed its nose at more high-brow awards' programs with dirty jokes and shameless plugs for Hollywood's upcoming summer blockbusters, also featured a 20th anniversary tribute to the 1985 teen drama "The Breakfast Club."

"Breakfast Club" stars Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall were all on hand to receive the award — an oversized bucket of silver popcorn

"It's pretty amazing to do a movie that's lasted for so long," Ringwald told Reuters as she arrived at the show. "I'm really proud."

Rock band Yellowcard serenaded the actors including Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall with a rendition of the theme song "Don't You Forget About Me."
