DAVID OGDEN STIERS FANS IN LI GET A TREAT
Long Island International Film Expo will screen some 60 films tomorrow through July 17 at the Malverne Cinema 4 and (on closing night only) the Bellmore Movies.
For instance, the opening night feature, "The Stand-In," is the first feature film of Good to Be Seen Films, a Summit, N.J., company founded in 1997 by actor Robbie Bryan. Bryan, who wrote the semi-autobiographical screenplay of "The Stand-In," stars as a fellow who jettisons law school to follow his dream of becoming an actor. And what does he become? Hint: Check out that film title. (Bryan, by the way, was Michael J. Fox's longtime movie stand-in.)
The film co-stars Kelly Ripa, David Ogden Stiers, Judith Ivey and Lou Myers. "It was the most commercial, family-oriented film that we had. And it seemed the perfect film for the opening," Markowitz said.
