Academy Award winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. has joined Val Kilmer, Michael Clarke Duncan and Eric Idle in the voice cast for the animated adventure Delgo, the first independently produced computer-animated feature in the U.S.

Louis Gossett, Jr. (An Officer and a Gentleman) is voicing King Zahn, a benevolent but cautious leader whose plans for his people's future are hindered only by his attachment to the past.

Delgo, a fantasy adventure film, is the first theatrical production from Atlanta-based Fathom Studios. The film is set in a divided land where a troubled youth and some unlikely friends must save the world from itself.

"Louis Gossett, Jr. is a legendary talent and a wonderful man," said Marc F. Adler, producer and co-director. "His voice is very unique and the creativity he lends to his performance is inspiring. Lou has been an absolute joy to work with and we are thrilled to have him involved with the film."

Gossett joins an all-star cast, including Val Kilmer voicing Bogardus, a fearless and cocky street-smart soldier, Eric Idle voicing Spig, a bumbling, pompous—yet dimwitted—imp, and Michael Clarke Duncan voicing Elder Marley, a mystical Stonesage master and the mentor to Delgo, a brash teenager who is haunted by his past.

The film has created a strong following largely due to the Digital Dailies, a message board on the movie's website where the studios' production teams post selected works-in-progress, allowing fans to follow artist collaboration and watch the creation of the film as it happens.
