The 10 copies of the book that Jonah had in his hand, which made the Bookstore Manager happy that finally someone (Johnny) had purchased it was the novel version of the movie, Star Trek: Insurrection(1998). The screenplay was written by "The Dead Zone's" exec. producer/creator, Michael Piller. This seems to be a joke commenting on the movie receiving a very mix response from both critics and Star Trek fans.
Series regulars, Nicole de Boer and Chris Bruno do not appear in this episode.
The production code of 2001 shows that this was the first episode filmed for the second season.
This episode was scheduled to air on 2/14/03 on the "Sci-Fi Channel", but Valley of the Shadow was reaired instead.
