BREAKFAST CLUB REUNION

Looks like former Brat Packer Ally Sheedy will be one of the guest stars in the up coming Playing God
I am very excited and can't wait to see Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy together again on screen.

Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall -- two stars of the 1985 John Hughes pic -- will be reunited onscreen in an episode of Hall's USA Network series "The Dead Zone."

After go-rounds on various "Breakfast Club" reunion storylines and schedule scenarios with the film's stars, USA, the show's producers and Sheedy opted for an episode titled "Playing God," which does not revive any "Breakfast Club" characters.

In the seg, likely to air this spring, Sheedy portrays an old flame of Hall's precognitive character Johnny looking to divine the future of her brother, who has an ailing heart.

A proposed "Breakfast Club" storyline "wasn't right," says Jeff Wachtel, USA's exec VP of series and longform programming, but "Johnny finding an old flame, that seemed more organic."

John Kapelos, who portrayed Carl the janitor in "Breakfast Club," also will be featured in the seg.

Wachtel also may look at other former co-stars of Hall's, such as those from "Edward Scisssorhands," for guest shots.

USA and the show's producers -- who have landed Robert Culp, Tracey Gold and Sean Patrick Flanery to guest in other episodes -- are eager to parlay such stunt casting.

"It breaks us out from the pack a little bit, gives viewers another hook, as well as giving TV guide writers another reason to write about that episode," Wachtel says.
