CHRISTOPHER WALKEN IN THE NEWS
Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, most recently seen in DreamWorks' "Catch Me If You Can," has been named ShoWest 2003 Supporting Actor of the Year.Walken will accept his award at ShoWest's closing awards ceremony March 6 in Las Vegas.
Walken received the supporting actor Oscar for his role in 1978's "The Deer Hunter," following his career-making role in Woody Allen's "Annie Hall." Walken has appeared in more than 50 feature films. Some of the most high-profile are "The Dead Zone," "At Close Range" and "Pulp Fiction." His upcoming films include Barry Levinson's "Envy" and Martin Brest's "Gigli." Walken trained as a dancer at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan and appeared in numerous stage plays and musicals before hitting the big screen. He won awards for roles in such plays as "The Lion in Winter," "The Seagull" and "The Rose Tattoo.
