Discovery Channel on Thursday named Universal Television veteran Rick Holzman vp, program planning and scheduling and appointed the BBC’s Peter Lovering to vp, programming, production and development for Discovery Channel U.S. in London

Holzman was most recently the senior vp of the strategic research division at the Universal Television Group where he consulted on programming trends and helped launch USA Network dramas Monk and The Dead Zone

VH1's DEF LEPPARD biopic, "Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story", is scheduled for a Region 1 (North America) DVD release on January 25 for $17.49. The 89-minute DVD is being issued by Paramount Home Video and is rated R. The movie stars Anthony Michael Hall, Amber Valletta and Orlando Seale, among others

Indie flick "Shooting Livien" is set to world premiere at the 2005 South by Southwest Film Festival, taking place March 11-19th.
Written and directed by Rebecca Cook through Velveteen Films, the psychological drama stars Jason Behr ("The Grudge"), Sarah Wynter (USA's "The Dead Zone"), Dominic Monaghan (ABC's "Lost", "Lord of the Rings" trilogy), Joshua Leonard ("The Blair Witch Project") and Ally Sheedy ("High Art").
